WWE News Latest Summer Slam 2022 results

Lynch went after Belair’s arm early, trying to set the champion up for the Dis-arm-her armbar.

Belair fought back with her power game before the match spilled to the outside, where she nearly regained momentum, only for Lynch to send Belair crashing into the ringside barricade.

Lynch continued to cut off Belair’s attempts to regain momentum at almost every turn for a long stretch of the match until Belair was able to hit a counter outside the ring, hitting a facebuster onto the ring apron before managing to suplex Lynch onto the ringside mats.

The damage Lynch had done to Belair’s arm came into play when Belair tried for a press slam only for her arm to give out, allowing Lynch to hit a Diamond Dust for a near fall.

Belair fought back before looking for the K.O.D. Lynch reversed, nearly hooking in the armbar, only for Belair to carry her through the ropes and hit the K.O.D. on the floor as Lynch barely beat the referee’s 10-count.

As the action returned to the ring, Lynch scored her near fall with a Manhandle Slam.

Belair reversed a superplex moments later, hitting a Spanish fly before another K.O.D. for the pinfall. Lynch and Belair shared a handshake and a hug after the match.

A perfect way to kick off the show, with Belair battling through everything Lynch, could throw at her and some solid false finishes throughout.

Not as good of a match as the two women are capable of, but still entertaining stuff. Bianca Belair def. Becky Lynch via pinfall to retain the title– Grade: B+.

Bayley made her return as Belair was celebrating her victory.

Bayley had been sidelined for more than a year.

After Bayley made her way to the ring, Dakota Kai’s music hit, and she walked out to join Bayley. Kai had been released from WWE in April.

Io Shirai’s music then hit, and she joined Bayley and Kai.

The three women then entered the ring to confront Belair, only for Lynch to jump in the ring to stand side-by-side with the champion, leading to Bayley and her group backing down.

Logan Paul vs. The Miz

Logan Paul vs. The Miz
WWE News Latest Summer Slam 2022 results

Miz showed off his wrestling dominance early, working over Paul with primary wrestling exchanges before Paul hit a waist lock takedown and a fireman’s carry.

Paul then worked a bit of boxing. As Miz retreated outside, Paul hit a moonsault from the ring apron to the floor.

Miz finally grabbed control of the match with a facebuster onto his knees and a bit of outside interference from Ciampa.

Paul got out of the way of a charge into the corner from Miz and hit a blockbuster and several strikes before a running power slam for a two-count.

Paul continued showing off his athleticism, hitting a standing moonsault for another two-count. Ciampa interfered again and was ejected from ringside but refused to leave until AJ Styles’ music hit and Styles blindsided Ciampa.

Paul then hit a Phenomenal Forearm for another near fall before taking Miz to the commentary table and hitting a frog splash from the top rope through the table.

Paul brought Miz back into the ring, but Maryse distracted the referee from making the count. As Miz tried to hit Paul from behind, Paul ducked, nearly causing Miz to collide with Maryse.

As Miz backed away, he backed right into Paul, who hit a Skull-Crushing Finale to score the pin. Paul looked great, love him or hate him, showing out in several big high-spot moments.

Considering Paul’s inexperience, this was a massive success in grading on a curve. Logan Paul def. The Miz via pinfall– Grade: B+.

United States Championship– Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Theory

Theory attacked Lashley with the Money in the Bank briefcase before the match started.

Despite the attack, Lashley told the referee to ring the bell, and Theory quickly took advantage, hitting a blockbuster and some strikes before Lashley could hit a back elbow and a huge slam to force Theory to bail from the ring.

The Theory then grabbed his briefcase and tried to leave the match, only to be stopped by Lashley, who threw Theory into the ringside barricade twice before throwing Theory back into the ring. Shortly after, Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock to force Theory to tap out.

This short match was needed after only two games in the first hour, but there wasn’t much to chew on. Bobby Lashley (c) def. Theory via pinfall to retain the title– Grade: B-.

The Judgement Day vs. The Mysterios (No Disqualification)

The Judgement Day vs. The Mysterios
WWE News Latest Summer Slam 2022 results

The Mysterios got off to a quick start with Rey and Dominik hitting big early dives before a top-rope crossbody from Dominik on Finn Balor for an early two-count.

After some quick tags by the Mysterios, Balor and Damian Priest finally got control of Dominik. Balor and Priest kept Dominik isolated, working over the younger Mysterio until he was finally able to make the hot tag to Rey.

Rey went with the high-speed attack, hitting several lightning-quick moves, including a sliding dive with a chair to the outside on Balor.

After Balor returned to the match, he ate a top-rope Rana from Rey before Priest broke up the pin.

As the Mysterios had the game seemingly in hand, Rhea Ripley interfered to attack Rey and set up Priest to hit South of Heaven.

Balor called for a chair, but the lights went out, and Edge made his return, storming to the ring and slamming spears on both Balor and Priest to help set up a double 619 on Balor for Rey and Dominik to score the win.

The match was nothing special, and the ring ropes were highly loose, causing some issues throughout, but Edge’s return made it memorable.

The Mysterios def. The Judgement Day via pinfall– Grade: C+.

Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin

Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin

As Corbin jawed at McAfee, McAfee hit him with a superkick.

Things would turn bad quickly for McAfee; however, after he was shoved off the top rope, he did a backflip and taunted Corbin, only for Corbin to dropkick him in the chest. Corbin ran McAfee around ringside, slamming him into the barricades several times before throwing him back into the ring for a near fall.

Corbin again nearly won the match after hitting Deep Six. After McAfee closely battled back with a dive over the top rope, Corbin reversed momentum and threw McAfee onto the announce table. McAfee hit his leap to the top rope for a superplex, though not without some issues with landing on his knees first, and began to take advantage of Corbin’s mistakes before a Swanton to the outside onto a standing Corbin.

McAfee accidentally sent Corbin into the referee but took advantage of the situation with a kick to Corbin’s groin before hitting a code red for the win.

This got very clunky down the stretch, in no small part due to the ring ropes being both loose and slippery, which appeared to cause several issues for McAfee. Pat McAfee def.

Happy Corbin via pinfall– Grade: C.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship– The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits (special guest referee Jeff Jarrett)

The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits

The Usos controlled the action early by isolating Angelo Dawkins as Jarrett stuck to standard enforcement of the rules.

Dawkins eventually made the tag to Montez Ford, who took over on Jey Uso, capping off his offense with a standing blockbuster.

After the Usos fought back against Ford, Dawkins got the tag and hit a flipping dive over the top rope as the Profits grabbed control again.

The Usos would again go on a run, hitting both a solo and a tandem Uso Splash on Dawkins but unable to score the pin.

Jey nearly hit Jarrett with a superkick, and Jarrett spun him into a slam from Dawkins, leading to Ford hitting a frog splash for a near fall.

Ford was frustrated with Jarrett’s count, and the momentary distraction allowed the Usos to counter his suicide dive with tandem superkicks before dumping him into the front row.

The Usos then hit Dawkins with a pair of superkicks and the 1-D for the win.

This wasn’t as good as the match between the Money in the Bank teams, but it was still a solid bout between two elite tag teams. The Usos (c) def.

The Street Profits via pinfall– Grade: B.

Riddle and Seth Rollins brawled after Riddle showed up and said that he didn’t care if he wasn’t medically cleared to compete and called out Rollins.

The two brawled in the entryway before ending up in the ring, where Rollins hit Riddle with a stomp as WWE officials tried to stop him.

SmackDown Women’s Championship– Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey

Rousey took the fight right to Morgan, hitting some punches, a jumping knee, and a slam.

Morgan tried to fight back but got kicked in the stomach for her trouble. Morgan managed to hit a codebreaker but was slammed again by Rousey before Rousey went for an armbar.

Morgan turned the armbar into the Rings of Saturn and a crucifix driver for a near fall on Rousey.

Rousey did manage to lock in an armbar, but Morgan escaped to the ropes before having to do the same seconds later when Rousey locked in the armbar again.

The referee threatened to stop the match, but Morgan pleaded for him not to. Rousey again locked in the armbar, and this time Morgan stacked Rousey, and the referee counted to three despite Morgan tapping out.

Rousey attacked Morgan after the match, locking in another armbar before taking down the referee with a hip toss and locking in an armbar on him.

Just a weird ending that makes a face look weak as she did not deserve the win.

So, not only was Morgan dominated, but she now is not a deserving champion.

Liv Morgan (c) def. Ronda Rousey via pinfall– Grade: C-.

” Raw” Women’s Championship Match– Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair (c).

The two women lock up early here, with Bianca Belair getting the best of the situation. She then showcases her agility by flipping away from the challenger until Becky Lynch captures her mid-air and slams Belair down to the mat. Big Time Becks quickly follows that by working the arm of Belair, including slamming it onto the second rope.

Belair responds well with a dropkick and a standing moonsault, which gets her a near fall as Lynch heads outside the ring. Belair follows and hits a K.O.D. that leaves Lynch hanging into the timekeeper’s booth, but she responds by holding the arm, which she yanks down over the barricade.

Back inside the ring, Lynch connects with the Beckspolder, but as she looks for another, the champion fights out. Lynch looks for the ankle, which Belair avoids, allowing the challenger to look in a unique submission instead. But, with Belair hung up on the middle rope, Lynch tries to dive down to add an attack, only for Belair to reverse with a powerbomb that drives Becky down.

Lynch immediately fights Belair back out of the ring, but as she dives out, Bianca catches her, dropping Lynch onto the ring apron. Following that, Belair launches her challenge into the ring post, following up with a suplex. Belair attempts to lift Lynch, but she gets out of it, responding with a beauty that gets a near fall.

Lynch then holds onto Belair’s braid and attempts to bounce off the ropes and hit a hurricanrana, but Belair reverses and throws Lynch across the ring. She looks for K.O.D. after this, but Lynch grabs the ropes and attempts to lock in the Dis-Arm-Her, but Belair crawls out of the ring. Becky keeps hold of her for this, but once they get outside the ring, the champion hits the K.O.D., only for Lynch to beat the ten count.

Back inside the ring, Belair looks for another K.O.D., but Lynch denies it, only to be spiked into the ring. The champion heads to the top rope, but Lynch joins her and pulls her down via the braid to hit the Manhandle Slam, but Belair kicks out!

Belair ends up going for a few roll-up pinfalls, but they end up on the top turnbuckle, where Lynch goes for a Manhandle Slam, but the champion hits a substantial Spanish Fly! Belair quickly follows that up with another K.O.D., and here she can retain the title, avenging her SummerSlam 2021 match.

The two women appear to be on the same page … but they’re not alone. Io Shirai is here as well!!!

Logan Paul vs. The Miz w/Ciampa & Maryse

Paul then fires Miz to the outside and hits a moonsault from the ring apron to take his opponent down once again, but when they get back into the ring, Miz turns things around by plugging a double knee attack to his chest of Paul in the corner and then beats down on his former partner.

Paul then unloads with a few big right hands and then connects with a blockbuster, he then hits a back elbow and a running power slam, but Miz was able to kick out. He follows up by hitting his version of the It Kicks, then takes down his opponent with a chop block before locking in Figure Four.

While Miz can escape, Paul connects with a crossbody straight into a standing moonsault as he continues to dominate, but the former World Champion kicks out again. He follows up with a big boot, and then Ciampa almost hits Paul, but he gets caught and ejected from ringside.
