Taylor Swift's Boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, celebrates the honorary doctorate of Swift

"Conversations with Friends" star Joe Alwyn gushed over his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, receiving an honorary doctorate from New York University.

"It's an incredible honor, it's amazing," Alwyn 31 stated in an interview with Extra of Swift about her accomplishment when she accepted her Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa award during the university's commencement ceremony on Wednesday.

" Wearing a cap and gown for the first time - see you soon, NYU," the Grammy winner posted on Instagram just hours ahead of arriving at Yankee Stadium for the ceremony.

Wearing a black cap and purple dress, and a purple gown, the "All Too Well" singer was seen smiling at fans in the Bronx fans as she made her way across the field to get to the stage.

"I would like to thank NYU for making me, technically, on paper at least, a doctor," Swift laughed in the speech.

"Not the type of doctor you would want around in case of an emergency, unless your specific emergency were that you desperately needed to hear a song with a catchy hook and an intensely cathartic bridge section, or if your emergency was that you needed a person who can name over 50 breeds of cats in one minute."

NYU recognized Swift for being "one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation" in the March press announcement.
