Tata Motors Records Highest-Ever EV Sales In FY2021-22

For the FY2021-22 period, Tata Motors achieved an annual EV-EV sales record of 19,106 units.

It also had an increase of 352.86 percent YoY sales increase.

Tata Motors has announced that it posted its highest-ever annual EV sales of 19,106 units in FY2021-22.

The figure is a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 352.86 percent and 419 EVs sold by the local manufacturer in FY2020-21.

This is incredible growth in sales, and thanks to that, Tata has managed to remain at the top of the Indian electric vehicle market.

Tata currently includes two passenger EVs on its list, including Tigor EV and Nexon EV. Nexon EV is now the top-selling electric vehicle in the United States and is priced at around Rs. 14.54 lakh to 17.15 lakh. 17.15 lakh. Tata Nexon EV draws power from the 30.2 kWh battery paired with one electric motor (129 PS/245 Nm) on the front axle.

For Tata Tigor EV, It is much less expensive, starting at Rs. 12.24 lakh to the price of Rs. 13.39 lakh. It has a 26-kWh battery pack connected to an electric motor (74.7 PS/170 Nm) on the front axle.

According to ARAI tests, Tigor EV delivers a driving distance of 306 kilometres, while Nexon EV delivers up to 312 kilometres.

The automaker plans to upgrade the Tata Nexon EV soon, with a longer-range version added to it and a few other features.

The new electric SUV has been seen on a couple of occasions on Indian roads during the testing.

The longer-range version is expected to come with a larger 40 kWh battery, and it will be available alongside the current (standard-range) model.

Tata Tigor EV is also scheduled to receive an upgrade shortly due to the release of spy photos of camouflaged test mules. Apart from that, Tata Motors recently released a teaser trailer for a mysterious EV which is expected to debut on the 6th of April.

While no specifics have been given about it, There’s lots of speculation.

Tata Motors reportedly has a couple of new EVs on the way, including Altroz EV and Punch EV and Sierra EV.

Tata Motors is also working on an SUV of a mid-size size that will sit somewhere between Nexon and Harrier.

The new model will come with an electric version too.

As shown in the teaser, we anticipate Tata’s future EV version to be among the latter.
