Trivia

This film is influenced by Once Upon a Time in America (1984) and the real-life accounts of India’s most notorious gangsters, Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim.

Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif were considered for the role of Rehana.

Emraan Hashmi’s character Shoaib Khan is loosely based on the underworld leader, Dawood Ibrahim. 

Kangna Ranaut’s role was inspired from yesteryear actress Madhubala on whom Haji Mastan had a crush.

Arbaaz Ali Khan had a role in the film that was edited out in the final cut.

Sanjay Dutt was signed for Ajay Devgan’s role but opted out.

Ekta Kapoor gifted Ajay Devgan a luxury 1967 vintage car which he drives in the film as he loved the car very much.
