Trivia

This movie started filming in 1997 and was supposed to be released on July 1, 1998, which would have been Preity Zinta’s first film but for some unknown reasons and delays, it was postponed to 2000. Therefore, several of Zinta’s films got released before this one, including two of her Telugu films.

While performing a stunt for this movie, Saif Ali Khan met with a very serious accident and had several stitches taken on his head.

The producer Ramesh Taurani wanted to replace Chandrachur Singh mid way through the film. The movie was not getting any distributors and Chandrachur’s slow box office draw was being considered the reason. Ramesh Taurani wanted Salman Khan to step in Chandrachur’s role. But Chandrachur needed to sign a legal document saying he was fine with the producer’s replacing him. He refused to sign the document and shooting was stalled for 6 months.

The song ” E Dil Laya Hain Bahaar” was sampled from Stereo Nation’ s song ” Oh Carol”.
