Kodak Black Released from Broward Jail, Engages in Altercation with Photojournalist and Threatens Reporter

Kodak Black Emerges from Broward County Jail, Confronts Local News Team

Miami, February 21 (BollywoodFever): After his release from Broward County jail in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, Kodak Black swiftly became confrontational when approached by a Local 10 News team for questioning.

The 26-year-old rapper from Pompano Beach, known for his troubled past, threatened to physically harm Local 10 Reporter Rosh Lowe and hurled rocks at Photojournalist Bryan Murphy. Fortunately, Murphy escaped injury when one of the rocks struck him in the ribs.

During the incident, the rapper vocally demanded bystanders to summon law enforcement, escalating the tense situation.

Earlier in the day, U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez ruled in a federal court in Miami for Kodak Black’s release after serving approximately two months for a probation violation. He received credit for time served after pleading guilty to failing to report police contact.

This follows the dismissal of a drug possession case against the rapper in Broward County court earlier this month, where his attorney presented a valid prescription for oxycodone from 2022.

Despite his legal entanglements, including a commuted prison sentence by then-President Donald Trump in 2021, Kodak Black continues to face challenges.

Born to a migrant mother from Haiti and raised in poverty in Pompano Beach’s Golden Acres public housing project, the rapper, also known as Dieuson Octave and Bill Kapri, is a father to several children with different women. Currently, a pregnant woman attending his federal court hearing in Miami claims to be expecting his fourth child, a son named Prince.

Kodak Black achieved success with hits like “No Flockin” in 2014 and “Super Gremlin” in 2022, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His latest release, “Shampoo,” debuted on YouTube and quickly gained traction, ranking within the top 16 on the platform worldwide within days.

However, his journey has been marred by legal troubles, including inconsistent court-ordered drug tests leading to rehab and a warrant. His defense attributes his narcotic use to pain management following a prison assault in 2020 and a gunshot wound suffered at Justin Bieber’s afterparty in California in 2022.
