Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the lead role in this movie, but her ex-beau Salman Khan started coming on to the sets drunk causing problems and stalling screening time. Shah Rukh Khan, fearing that more problems would occur, immediately dropped Aishwarya from the lead, causing problems between the two of them for a period of time.

Rani Mukerji had originally turned down this role, since she thought it was too similar to Saathiya (2002).

First movie, produced by Dreamz Unlimited (a Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Aziz Mirza production company) to not flop in the box office.

After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol was considered for the role of Priya, but she declined.

Shah Rukh Khan stated he signed Aditya Pancholi for one scene because he could not envision anyone playing his boss except Aditya Pancholi.
