Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Ajay Devgn in legal soup; case registered for ‘advertising gutka
A case has been registered in Muzaffarpur against Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh for ‘promoting gutka.’
The case has been filed under sections 467, 468, 439, and 120B by activist Tamanna Hashm.
A few weeks ago, a hue and cry were created when Akshay Kumar endorsed a pan masala brand.
The actor was slammed to a point where he had to issue a public apology for his association with the brand.
Other actors who have come under the scanner for association with ‘gutka’ and ‘paan masala’ brands are Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh.

A Muzaffarpur-based activist Tamanna Hashm has filed a case against SRK, Ajay, Ranveer, and Big B under sections 467, 468, 439, and 120B.
The chargesheet also adds, “misusing their popularity for advertising ghutka only in greed of money.”
The court has accepted the case, and it will be heard on May 27.
In October 2021, Amitabh Bachchan terminated his contract with a chewing tobacco brand. His office released a statement stating that Bachchan wasn’t aware of a few details.
The statement read, “When Mr Bachchan became associated with the brand, he wasn’t aware it takes place under surrogate advertising.
Now, he has ended the contract with the brand, has written to them about his termination, and has returned the money received for the promotion.”
